I am enjoying The Gift of Years by Joan Chittister. If you think you might grow older, I recommend this book.
I have enjoyed all the Robert Tannenbaum books, but Escape was a particularly profound exploration of the question, "If God tells you to kill, should you? Would you?" Of course, he explores via fiction, which makes it especially readable.
Recently I was profoundly affected by the book What If The Church Were Christian? by Phillip Gulley.
Books by C.J. Box about Joe Pickett, a game warden in Wyoming, raise important questions about "Where do you draw the line?" Nowhere to Run and Cold Winter both entertained and dug in (for me).
